The New Bone Health Book was released on Tuesday, 16 June 2009 by Prof. R. C. Deka, Director, AIIMS,   at Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium.
 
 
6th Annual Conference of ISBMR, will be held on 13th and 14th August, 2010 at AIIMS, New Delhi. The Conference will be preceeded by IOF Certified Bone Densitometry course to be conducted on 11-12 August 2010 at INMAS, New Delhi.


ISBMR had sent representatives to 19th IOF Advanced Training Course on Osteoporosis which will be held on February 2 – 4, 2010 in Lyon, France, to attend the course as representatives of ISBMR.

Essay competition on Osteoporosis was conducted on the eve of World Osteoporosis Day 2009 by ISBMR. Award Ceremony was held on November 19, 2009 at AIIMS, New Delhi.


5th Annual Conference of Indian Society For Bone And Mineral Research (ISBMR) was held at HOTEL INDER RESIDENCY, UDAIPUR (RAJASTHAN) on 8th October 2009.

A Bone Densitometry Workshop and certification course was held at P.D. Hinduja National Hospital on 6-7th October 2009.

  • After successfully organizing four annual conferences at different places, we have moved to the Lake City of Udaipur, to conduct our fifth National Conference, on 08th October, 2009. 
  • Since a large number of our members are also members of the Endocrine Society of India, we have decided to hold our meeting, one day prior to ESICON 2009, for the sake of convenience of delegates. We hope, this will enable all our members to attend the 5th National Conference and also encourage new members to enroll and participate in this meeting.
  • As always we have an exciting scientific programme both by Indian and Foreign faculty. Our 4 member foreign faculty includes Marius Kraenzlin from Switzerland and Claus Glüer from Germany. We do hope you would enjoy your outing at Udaipur.

Abstracts for free papers are invited. Last date for submission is 15th August, 2009.

Bone Health Award

The ISBMR with the support of Ortholands Ranbaxy initiated a research award in the field of bone health. Students enrolled for DM (or DNB) Endocrinology or Rheumatology, who have submitted their dissertations in 2009 or will be submitting by 31st August, 2009 are elgible to apply for the award provided the dissertation pertains to bone and mineral disorders. The application must be forwarded by their thesis guides. The application will involve a one-page synopsis of their research, providing in abstract form, the background, objectives, material and methods, results, discussion and conclusions. All students whose application is received before 31st August will be expected to present their work in the form of a poster at the 5th National Conference of the ISBMR. This work will be adjudicated by a team of experts, who will discuss the findings with the candidates at the site of the poster display.

Registration Procedure :

Delegates are requested to register by using the form provided. Payment of registration fee as under should be made by Cheque /DD payable at Delhi in favour of Indian Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ISBMR) and send to the conference secretariat

Cancellation and Re-imbursements :

Cancellation and Re-imbursements of Registration Fee is possible against request as follows:

Till 15th August, 2009 : 50% refundable
Till 15th September, 2009 : 25% refundable

Hotel Accommodation and Reservations:

For the convenience of participants, we will be arranging accommodation located close to the venue at a reasonable cost, provided prior information is provided. Further information about reservation can be easily received by e-mail or phone call from conference secretariat
