The Indian Society for Bone and Mineral Research announces two research grants, of Rs 1 lakh each, for clinical and basic research in the field of bone and mineral disorders. This has been supported by an unrestricted educational grant from Ranbaxy Ortholands Limited. The award is open preferably to young investigators in the field. The grant money can only be utilized for research consumables and contingency and not for manpower costs.

To apply for the award, investigators are requested to submit the following information via email to isbmrindia@gmail.com (with the subject line indicating “Application for ISBMR Research Grant”):

1. Curriculum vitae
2. Three page Research Plan to include the following headings:

  • Title
  • Background information currently available
  • Objectives
  • Methods
  • Work Plan
  • Budget

The last date for submitting applications is 31st January, 2012. The decision on the outcome of the application will be communicated to the awardees by 31st March, 2012. Funds will be released only after ethics approval has been obtained from the Institutional Ethics Committee. To facilitate early release of funds, applicants may consider concurrently applying to their institutional ethics committee so that both processes – adjudication on their grant application and ethics approval can occur in parallel.
