Fourth Indian Osteoporosis Congress
The silent wilderness of Goa came alive on the 1st of September 2012, which played host to ISBMR’s Fourth Indian Osteoporosis Congress 2012. More than a 100 Key Opinion Leaders in the fields of Endocrinology, Spine, Orthopaedics and Rheumatology dawned upon the lobby of Radisson Blu from the for a one day scientific update on Osteoporosis.
After a warm welcome in the typical Indian Traditional way, a refreshing welcome drink, and a quick bite the delegates swarmed into the conference room to actively engage and participate in the one day event titled “Evolving Management of Osteoporosis… The way forward”.
The session was inaugurated by the COO Brig Satish Kukreja. The lighting of the lamp by the International Speaker Prof Lars and the key members of the ISBMR set the momentum for the sessions. Dr. Manoj Chadha – the Vice President of ISBMR, shared with the group regarding the alarming numbers of the incidence and the epidemiology of osteoporosis in India.
Post the introduction there was no breathing space available as the scientific sessions that flowed followed by the question and answer sessions enthused and kept the speakers and the delegates engaged and the time kepers found it difficult to curtail the discussions.

The meeting concluded with Brig Kukreja’s vote of thanks and a promise to the delegates that ISBMR would be back in 2013 with more interesting topics on osteoporosis!
