Osteoporosis Essentials Course 2017

The Osteoporosis Essentials program for the year 2017 was held at Hotel Courtyard Marriott, Mumbai on 10th & 11th June.

Osteoporosis: Essentials of Densitometry, Diagnosis and Management is an international program of International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and The International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) along with the Indian Society for Bone & Mineral Research (ISBMR).

The meeting was attended by 45 Drs from across the country. The program was inaugurated by Brig. Satish Kukreja, CEO, Indian Society for Bone & Mineral Research and had top KOLs of the country on Bone Health as faculty which included –

  1. Dr. Ambrish Mithal – Chairman & Head of Endocrinology, Medanta; Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Advisory Council of the International Osteoporosis Foundation & Padma Bhushan awardee 2014
  2. Dr. Nikhil Tandon – HOD of Endocrinology, AIIMS, New Delhi and Padma Shree awardee 2014
  3. Dr. Rajesh Malhotra – Professor of Orthopedics, AIIMS, New Delhi
  4. Dr. Manoj Chadha – Consultant Endocrinologist, Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai

There was an active participation by the delegates in all the sessions on various aspects related to Osteoporosis including interpretation of DEXA report, fracture risk assessment & clinical management of Osteoporosis.

100% of the delegates rated that the topics covered were as per their expectation and the same number of delegates expressed that the program has added knowledge & skills in their learning to Osteoporosis.
